In Jan 2012, I started Atkins, weighing more than I have ever weighed, even at 9 ms. pregnant. I was just tired of being sick and tired. Having PCOS, I knew low carb would be the way to go. So, with just some grocery changes, I started on my journey. I won't lie, it was hard. I believe sugar is very addictive. Food in general is addictive, especially when you use it for comfort or to cure boredom. I lost about 20 pounds fairly easily just changing my diet. I then added visiting the YMCA every weekday. I would take my ear buds and just walk on the treadmill while I watched an hour of TV. I also rode the bikes every once in a while. And, several days a week would walk outside on the track while chatting with a supportive friend. It's amazing how far you can walk while just chatting it up. Within around 9 ms I dropped 74 pounds. I was so happy! Then I started back to work in Aug of 2012, and just didn't have the time to go to the Y, much less anything else, so I basically maintained. I still needed to lose around 40 pounds to be at a happy place for me. Long story short, my weight stayed the same for over a year, which is better than gaining. Then in November 2013, I started gaining back. Not good. Here it is, Jan, 2014, and I have gained back 20 pounds. I am so angry with myself! But, it is a new year, fresh start. So, I am now on day 8 or low carb eating once again, and intend to work my behind off, literally! I have a goal of 10 pounds a month I would like to lose, with the total lost to be around 60 pounds. This will take lots of work, will power, and most of all prayer. But, I am worth it! I can do it! I also plan to document my journey with pictures on here, so feel free to just scroll past them, as they are more for me, to keep me accountable. I will start with a picture from May of 2010, I believe...that is me on the left with glasses...
Then Christmas 2011...omg far right long sweater...
then Spring 2012
and Dec 2012
I'm sad...stomach:(
So, in closing, I am again starting on this journey, to be the best I can be, and set a good example for my kids. Any prayers would be appreciated!
